Simply MBA: FAQ

What kind of client is right for Simply MBA?
A Simply MBA client is focused on a single goal: peerless MBA essays.

Our typical client has already selected their schools but wants an expert to guide them through the essay production process, from wherever they are in the process to the submit button.

Our focus is narrow: essays. Our commitment is deep. Focusing on one thing keeps our operation streamlined and discourages bloat — both in our operations and our fee assessment.

If you prefer assistance with candidate assessment, waitlist strategies, interview prep, or scholarship negotiation, you’ll find a better match with a different agency.

How much do you charge?
Through August 15 2026, all single-school packages are $3000. Each additional school is reduced by 10%: Your second school is $2700, the third is $2430, etc.

Our prices increase three times during the season: August 15, October 1, and December 15. These fees are for working with our founder — when her schedule fills up, we close for the season.

This fee includes unlimited revision feedback and as much communication (by email/Google Meet) as it takes to finish the job.

What will I get out of the consultation?
The consult is the necessary first step. You’ll share where you are on your essay process and help us get to know you. We’ll talk in depth about your essays and how you can approach them. Whether or not you move forward with us, you’ll have feedback on your essays you can put into practice right away.

What if I haven’t written anything yet?
This is the best time to book a consult. The most important step of the essay process isn’t writing: It’s topic selection. Curating your topics across all essays is the best way to present a portrait of you to the adcom that is compelling. We’ll select your topics and perspective only after in-depth conversation around what truly matters to you, and why, and how that material can be sculpted to showcase you at your best.

How long does the process take?
This mostly depends on the client’s schedule. We can typically schedule the initial consultation with 48 hours, and we review all essays within two business day — that’s the promise, but it’s usually faster. Our fee includes unlimited revisions; practically speaking, it usually ranges from 3 to 10.

Our fastest engagement ever took five days. The longest, six weeks. On average, two weeks.

You said ChatGPT can’t get me into business school. Sure it can — you just hate LLMs because they’re taking away your business.

LLMs can help organize your thoughts and occasionally provide actionable feedback. It can’t meaningfully participate in topic selection. It can’t talk you through your professional and personal history or pinpoint what small experience can be spun into a moving, compelling essay.

If you’re good-to-great writer, it’ll flatten your prose, rob it of its idiosyncrasies, and turn you into a mediocre writer. If you’re a poor writer, it’ll improve the coherence of your expression, but it’ll make you sound like everyone else. It doesn’t know how to be vulnerable in a compelling and carefully managed way. And it leaves its tracks everywhere.

Do you think an adcom wants to read that? Hundreds of LLM-generated essays? If you think they can’t tell difference, you’re wrong.

If budget or circumstance means you need to use an LLM, use it for structure, but don’t let it think for you, or write for you. Your clumsiest true idea is better than its best clear position.

What if I’m unhappy with the results?
We offer a no-questions-asked money-back guarantee. At any point during the editing process, you can simply request a refund — and you’ll get it.

To clearly define “during the editing process”: After revision, we’ll send an email that presents the essay as “final.” Ideally, you’ll agree, and we’ll consider the work done. If for any reason we fail to receive confirmation, the job will be considered closed three days after that email is sent. After this point, no refunds can be provided.

Practically speaking, we’re able to offer this policy because our clients never make use of it. If we don’t think we’re the right team for you, we’ll say so. And if you feel like we’re not the right match for you, we’re happy to suggest other editors — for example, those who specialize in later-in-life applicants or specific regions.
